How to Excel in English

        A lot of Thai students especially English admirers, would like to know "how to be good at English". According to Joseph Bellafiore, a veteran American linguist, the best way to excel of English is to try to enrich your word power. "The more vocabularies you gain, the better English learner you are," says Bellafiore.
        เด็กนักเรียนไทยจำนวนมาก โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งคนที่ชอบภาษาอังกฤษล้วนอยากจะทราบ "วิธีการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษให้เก่ง" กันทั้งนั้น โจเซฟ เบลลาฟิโอเร นักภาษาศาสตร์อเมริกันผู้เชียวชาญ กล่าวไว้ว่า วิธีการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษให้เก่งก็คือ จงพยายามเสริมสร้างความรู้ในเรื่องศัพท์ "ยิ่งรู้ศัพท์มากเท่าไหร่ ก็ยิ่งเป็นผู้เรียนภาษาอังกฤษยิ่งขึ้นเท่านั้น" เบลลาฟิโอเรกล่าว
 
         Wide reading of books, newspapers and magazines gives you a great leap forward to increase your command of words. Since you're interested in getting better marks in English exams, landing a good job in the near future and becoming a person who can speak English fluently, you must start now!
To start with, there are six ways to a better vocabulary :
          การอ่านมาก ทั้งหนังสือ หนังสือพิมพ์ และนิตยสารจะทำให้เราก้าวไกลมากในการเพิ่มพูนเสริมสร้างการใช้ศัพท์ ในเมื่อเราสนใจอยากได้คะแนนสอบภาษาอังกฤษสูงๆ อยากได้งานดีๆ ในอนาคตอันใกล้ และอยากเป็นคนที่สามารถพูดอังกฤษคล่อง เราต้องเริ่มต้นตั้งแต่วันนี้   เริ่มต้นทีเดียว ก็มีอยู่ 6 วิธีด้วยกันในอันที่จะทำให้เก่งศัพท์ยิ่งขึ้น

1. Experience : ประสบการณ์
    You have to widen your range of experience by firsthand contact with English-speaking people. In a nutshell, you have to try to converse with English speakers-on whatevertopics-whenever you have a chance. Life is the greatest teacher of words and everything else.
     เรา ควรเสริมสร้างเราควรจะเสริมสร้างประสบการณ์ที่มีอยู่ด้วยการติดต่อสื่อสาร โดยตรงกับคนที่พูดภาษาอังกฤษ คือ พูดง่ายๆ เราควรจะพยายามสนทนากับคนที่พูดภาษาอังกฤษ ไม่ว่าจะคุยเรื่องอะไรเมื่อไหร่ก็ตามที่เรามีโอกาสชีวิตคือครูคำศัพท์และทุก สิ่งทุกอย่างที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุด

2. Reading : การอ่าน
    You must develop your habit of reading English books, newspaper and magazines based on interests, hobby, vocation , etc. Reading is one of the chef tools in broadening your background.
    เรา ต้องพัฒนานิสัยในการอ่านหนังสือ หนังสือพิมพ์ และนิตยสารที่เป็นภาษาอังกฤษบนพื้นฐานของความสนใจ งานอดิเรก อาชีพ เป็นต้น การอ่านถือว่าเป็นหนึ่งในอุปกรณ์หลักๆ ที่จะเสริมสร้างภูมิหลังให้แก่เรา

3. Dictionary : พจนานุกรม
     You should get better acquainted with the contents and arrangements of words in the dictionary. The dictionary is a "must" for every English learner.
      เราควรจะทำความคุ้นเคยกับเนื้อหาสาระและการเรียงร้อย คำในพจนานุกรมให้ดียิ่งขึ้น พจนานุกรมนั้น "จำเป็น" สำหรับคนที่เรียนภาษาอังกฤษ

4. Notebook : สมุดบันทึก
      After collecting words, you are to keep a neat record of new words in your
notebook. If possible, you should copy the phrase of sentence to illustrate its actual use. And don't forget to check the meaning of every word or sentence you copy.
      หลังจากรวบรวมคำ ศัพท์ เราต้องจดบันทึกคำศัพท์ใหม่ๆ ไว้อย่างเป็นระเบียบในสมุดบันทึกของเราหากเป็นไปได้ให้คัดลอกวลีหรือประโยค ที่แสดงถึงวิธีใช้และอย่าลืมตรวจดูความหมายของทุกคำ

5. Word-families or roots : ตระกูลศัพท์หรือรากศัพท์
       You should have to study t groups of words that are related in structure and meaning because of prefixes , roots and suffixes. Latin and Greek parents have given us thousand of words in English.
        เรา ต้องศึกษาหมวดหมู่ของคำศัพท์ต่างๆ ที่สัมพันธ์กันในโครงสร้างและความหมายอันเนื่องจากคำเติมหน้า (อุปสรรค)  รากศัพท์ และคำต่อท้าย (อาคม) ตระกูลศัพท์ที่มาจากภาษาลาตินและกรีกนั้นได้ให้ศัพท์ในภาษาอังกฤษแก่เรานับ พันๆ คำ
